FB3X Drabble Cascade #79 - word of the week is 'autumnal'

Fantasy Boys XXX Drabble Cascade

Welcome to FB3X Drabble Cascade #79 - This week's word of the week, in honour of the equinox is 'autumnal'.

Suitable for all.
The Way A Cascade Works

it's really very simple, be inspired by our word of the week and just write :).

To see this week's entries check out the list at the bottom of this post. We put it behind a cut so it doesn't clog up your scrolling.

A drabble is a work of 100 words exactly. Flash fiction is a work of up to 500 words. Both may be submitted to the cascade. So What Can You Write? The simple answer is - anything! Our work here on FB3X will be erotically themed. but feel free to take the inspiration any way you want to, fiction, fanfiction, non-fiction, meta, since variety is the spice of life!

To those struck by inspiration (and no you don't have to be a professional writer to join in, anyone can embrace their inner author):
  • Below you will find a chance to join in the cascade in the form of a linked list
    • Write a drabble/flash fiction inspired by the word of the week.
    • Post the fiction to your own blog, social media, or website
    • Then insert a link into the linked list to that drabble/flash fiction for everyone to find (A hint of the genre of your drabble/flash fiction in the title of your post would be appreciated.), e.g. A Little Bit of Fun (PG, Science Fiction)
    • To encourage your friends to join in and hence cascade the fun, you can also add the list into your own post by copying the code.
  • OR you can just write us something in the comments :)
For folks who enjoy reading drabbles/flash fiction: you can then peruse the cascade to your heart's content :).

AND NOW - on to the fiction :)

Falling (PG13, m/m, Fantasy)
by Sophie Duncan

Author's Note
So, autumnal got me thinking about leaves and the wondrous colours of the season. I thought about how the leaves can swirl in eddies of wind and this is what came out of it. :)

The cool grass rode up his bare back, but Jordan could not have cared less, his attention being riveted on the gyrating mass of reds and golds before him. When he had volunteered for the Equinox Joining, he had known from the ancient stories of He-Nature’s demands, but those tales had not prepared him for the heat coursing through him from merely watching such rampant, savage sexuality.

Golden leaves cascaded over him, crimson as well, and with them came the earthy scent of their owner.

Jordan knelt up then, leaning towards his magical dancer - aroused - ready to celebrate.

Dancer's Promise (NC17, m/m, Fantasy)
by Sophie Duncan

Author's Note
I slept on the story above and decided it had to have a sequel drabble :).

Ai spun one last time and then threw himself into a crouch in front of his lithe young human. He gazed into lost wide grey eyes and knew this one, with his slack jaw and glistening erection, was different. It had been a long time, but this would be no swift Joining.

Ai held out his hand.

“Lie with me while the leaves fall, we shall make merry warmth all season.”

His human’s stare widened: Ai felt magic stir.

“Then sleep beside me under the ice and I shall teach you my secrets.”

His human smiled and took his hand.

Goodbye (PG13, m/m, Fantasy)
by Sophie Duncan

Author's Note
And then I had to make it a trilogy and finish the story :)

Jordan broke the ice, sat up and gasped his first breath since the Winter storms had set in and he had lain beside Ai, resting after their strenuous, delightful Autumn. He was alone now, he had known Ai would be gone. Still, a pang of loneliness met his revival.

Cold, stiff, he sat, the weak sun beginning to warm his body. Exercising his fingers, he saw the shimmer: Ai had left him more than Wisdom. Golds and reds swirled up his arm and down his chest. He smiled sadly at the generous reminder of the months he would never forget.

The Call (PG, m/m, Fantasy)
by Natasha Duncan-Drake

Author's Note

Sliding in very late today, sorry. Had a builder doing work on the house yesterday and it kind of disrupted everything I was trying to remember to do :). Hope you enjoy this week's drabble.

What jumped straight into Ben's mind as he walked into the hall was 'autumnal'; Everything was browns, gold and yellows. It gave the huge room a warm feeling.

"What do you want, Human?"

His eyes were caught by movement and he realised there had been a person standing there all the time.

"I come to offer my services," he stuttered out, the warmth dissipating as a truth spell from his companion ensnared him.

"Why?"

"I heard the call."

The elf's eyes changed then, from bright blue to soft brown.

"The first in a hundred years," the elf said and smiled.
